Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Worknizer, Inc. ("Worknizer", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information. It is a draft pending final legal review — see the note at the end.
1. Who we are and what this covers
This policy covers both the worknizer.com marketing website and the Worknizer service (the application at app.worknizer.com). One policy applies to both so there is a single, consistent set of rules whether you are reading about Worknizer or using it to run your business.
Worknizer is software for home service businesses. When you use the service, you may act as a "data controller" for your own customers' information, and Worknizer acts as a "data processor" that handles that information on your behalf. This policy describes what we do with personal information in both roles.
2. Data we collect
We keep data collection to what we actually need to run the website and the service:
- Account and business data. When you sign up for the service, we collect your name, email address, business details, and the information you add — such as your clients, properties, jobs, schedules, invoices, and team members.
- Contact-form data. If you use the contact form on the website, we collect the name, email, subject, and message you send so we can reply. Today that form opens your own email app to send the message; a server-side form may be added later.
- Payment data. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store raw card numbers. We keep a record that a payment happened and which plan it was for.
- Website analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use worknizer.com (such as page views and which features draw interest). Analytics runs with consent denied by default (Google Consent Mode v2) — no analytics cookies are set until you accept our cookie banner, and you can decline or change your mind at any time.
- Two small browser settings. The website stores two small functional items in your browser's local storage — a
wk-locale-decidedflag so it does not keep re-asking about your preferred language, and awk-consentflag that records your cookie-banner choice. Neither is used for tracking.
We do not run third-party advertising or social-media tracking scripts on the website.
3. How and why we use it
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, and secure the website and the service (to perform our contract with you);
- respond to your messages and provide support;
- process subscriptions and payments;
- understand aggregate website usage so we can improve it (our legitimate interest in a working, useful site);
- meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Where the law requires consent for a specific use, we ask for it and you can withdraw it.
4. Sharing and sub-processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Worknizer, and only as needed:
- Payment processing — Stripe, for subscriptions and payments.
- Analytics — Google (Google Analytics 4), which processes website usage data. When you consent, this may include cookies and cross-domain measurement between worknizer.com and app.worknizer.com so we can understand the full visit-to-signup journey.
- Email and transactional messaging — providers that help us send account and support emails.
- Hosting and infrastructure — providers that host the website and the service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a lightweight cookie banner. Google Analytics 4 starts with consent denied (Consent Mode v2), so no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you choose Accept. If you Decline (or ignore the banner), Google receives only cookie-free, aggregate measurement signals. Two small functional items are always stored in your browser regardless of consent: the wk-locale-decided language preference and the wk-consent record of your banner choice — both are functional settings, not trackers.
6. Data retention
We keep account and business data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. After an account closes, we retain limited information only as long as necessary for legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes, then delete or anonymize it. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
7. Security
We take protecting your data seriously — including encryption of sensitive data, keeping each business's data separate, optional two-step sign-in, and secure payment handling through Stripe. You can read a plain-language overview on our Security page.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Under the EU/UK GDPR and Brazil's LGPD these rights apply to residents of those regions; under California's CCPA/CPRA, California residents have similar rights. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
To exercise any right, contact us at legal@worknizer.com. If you use Worknizer to manage your own customers' data, the service includes a built-in way to anonymize a client's record when they ask you to remove their information.
9. International transfers
Worknizer is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.
10. Children's data
Worknizer is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service and the law evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the website or the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact us
Questions about this policy or your data? Email our privacy contact at legal@worknizer.com, or reach general support at support@worknizer.com. Worknizer, Inc. is organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
This document is a draft prepared for review. It reflects Worknizer's actual data practices but has not yet completed attorney review, which is required before launch. It is provided for information and is not legal advice.
